They went on to epitomise the classic American pop/rock sound of the 80's and 90's with hit albums and singles including Hold The Line, Africa, I Won't Hold You Back and the multi-Grammy winning Rosanna. Live In Amsterdam was recorded in front of a fanatical crowd in 2003 during the world tour in support of their album "Through The Looking Glass". The set includes all their hits, tracks from that album together with live favourites. This track is from the full concert DVD "Live in Amsterdam", available now from Eagle Vision. I hear the drums echoing tonight But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation She's coming in 12:30 flight The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation I stopped an old man along the way, Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies He turned to me as if to say, Hurry boy, It's waiting there for you CHORUS: It's gonna take a lot to take me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never have The wild dogs cry out in the night As they grow restless longing for some solitary company I know that I must do what's right As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become CHORUS (Instrumental break) Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you It's gonna take a lot to take me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never have

Slim Shady: Golden, just golden GTA Vice City.
ManOffTTC: Alright people listen here, there's no lip syncing or playback on the chorus. It's all live and working, as the band has NO reason to lip sync or use playback and I'll explain it once and for all, how is that possible if it sounds too perfect:
For those of you who think the choruses here are a playback of the album version, they're not. The notes and the harmony may sound the same but the voices are different, listen carefully and you'll notice that. Also, The high voice you hear during the choruses, singing the high A4 note, is surprisingly not Bobby, it's Tony Spinner - the guy with the black acoustic guitar. If you go and listen to the lead vocals of the live version of Stop Loving You, you'll realize it IS the same voice, which belongs to Tony. Although I can't recall the reason you can't hear Bobby during the chorus, the A4 is actually NOT a tough note for him to sing. It's not high for him, as he was singing higher notes during that tour, such as the B4 on Girl Goodbye (during the line - "in your eyes") and even C5's and D5's on other songs (!!). Still don't trust Bobby's ability to reach these notes? Go to 03:50 and listen how Bobby sings a different part, where he's actually singing higher notes (while Tony stays on top of the A4 at the background, for those of you who wonder who's singing it if Bobby is singing a different part at the same time).
The rest of the voices are live as well; listen carefully and you'll hear David Paich's voice as well, making the harmony for the chorus. This band is a pro at harmonizing and doing great vocals. This is not lip-sync, just pure talent.
Lane Hogger: Simon Phillips is on it !
Umberto Tucci: dreadful vocalist solo...incredible for such a band
