In a new study, a team of Yale researchers identified a genetic mutation responsible for the defects that give rise to mild and severe acne. Their finding might point to new targets for acne treatment.” Epidemiology of acne vulgaris. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23210645 “Despite acne being an almost universal condition in younger people, relatively little is known about its epidemiology. We sought to review what is known about the distribution and causes of acne by conducting a systematic review of relevant epidemiological studies. We searched Medline and Embase to the end of November 2011.” Sweat-Eating Bacteria: Acne Miracle Cure? http://news.discovery.com/human/health/sweat-eating-bacteria-acne-miracle-cure-140929.htm “The latest front in combating acne breakouts could be in bacteria that feed on your sweat. Ammonia-oxideizing bacteria (AOB) digest ammonia, which is a major component of sweat. A new, small study has shown that applying a topical cream containing the bacteria leads to healthier skin and could be used to treat acne and promote healing in wounds.” ____________________ DNews is dedicated to satisfying your curiosity and to bringing you mind-bending stories & perspectives you won't find anywhere else! Alaina Perry: 😭😭😭😦😦😦😧😧😧😖😖😖😟😟😟😟😌😌😌😌
fml bie: I swear my dad cursed me with horrible skin. It's bumpy, red, sensitive, acne prone, and conveniently, I have eczema.
FlyingT: Stays till you are 30 oh no
a duck who wants 1000 subs: acne is so ugly i dont even know why it exists
N: Yes they are smh
Uzair Javaid: As specialist, I think Fopobiacne Secrets is good way to clear your acne naturally. Why not give it a chance? perhaps it'll work for you too.
hellio ringos: does it mean i'm adopted? cause my parents doesnt experience acne so much, until now that they passed 60's their faces have no acne signs XD XD
Thomas Savino: Whether your parents are to blame or not you should do yourself a favor and Google "Benzamycin RxPalace" for access to a great treatment to lessen your acne.
Bridget lewis: I don't get acne, just greasy hair the day after washing it
saeefa: I dont need solid research to tell me that Cheese and coke dont break me out, whenever I eat healthy and drink more water, my skin looks better.
Brian: Well if your parents are to blame for bad acne, eugenics is the best long-term solution to remove acne from the population, although it may seem harsh.
Akshay Meshram: Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
coax electrons: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A HUMAN EATS CAT FOOD ?
Scott Free: YEAST is the cause
Aditya Singh: It'd be more informative to explain ,why some people end up with severe acne that doesn't go away without any treatment and why for some it goes away after the teenage years.(LOL: The end credits, suggests accordingly that some people never get to the time of their reproductive maturity :D,and god doesn't want them to have any mates ,except from the pool of people with the same problem of severe acne).
TheRockChild: But a study came out not long ago about insulin and acne link. High amounts of sugar can cause acne, just google it. I also did my own body tests and I have some weird issue with milk. I can't have milk, half and half or whipped cream. I get nodular acne each and every time. I switched to Almond milk and my acne stopped.
KeepCalmAndCARRIEOn: Sample size only 3 people? :/
GrimxLink: she looks naked if you put on subtitles
Elena Murray: My acne started at 11, was at it's worst at 17, and has finally calmed down at 24. During my teenage years it was a combination of genetics and hormones that caused it. My dad had severe acne as a teenager, so naturally I did too. In my 20s, however, it's mostly been stress related. I figured it out when after leaving an incredibly stressful job my skin cleared up within two weeks. I still have mild acne, but it's rarely as bad as used to be and frankly I wouldn't know what to do with clear skin.
Scereyaha: ... Why are we looking for one of these factors to explain acne when its logical and well enough understood that all of this would play a role?
Your genetics influence your skin type, pore size, hormone levels, skin sensitivity to hormones and bacteria, hair growth, even how much swelling your skin will do in response to different bacteria or contaminants, and your immune system in general.
Your hormones also have environmental and dietary factors, and effect your sensitivity to bacteria and your blood sugar levels and hair growth, all of which play a role in acne formation.
Pimples happen when a pore gets infected and swells shut, or when it gets clogged, or clogged and then infected. The growth of the bacteria after that point also depends on many factors.
Anything that effects the growth of bacteria on and in your body (even a little bit) will effect it. Your skin care routine will effect it, the products you put on your face and how well suited they are to your skin will effect it.
Having the genetics for weak little facial fuzz that tend to become micro ingrown hairs instead of breaking the surface of your skin could be one factor leading to more acne, because those tiny ingrown hairs might very much increase the chance of a follicle becoming infected... but your pores will NEVER "GROW acne INSTEAD of hair", that statement is ridiculous. And everything from exfoliating to killing said bacteria could solve that problem. (Hence why antibiotics can help, but don't solve the problem, the puss that forms in the skin is bacterial growth, but treating the infection doesn't solve the problem of how it got there. Not to mention overusing antibiotics on something so ongoing and superficial would definitely contribute to antibiotic resistant bacteria.)
Trying to pin a complex process like the formation of clogged and infected pores, and tendency toward acne, on only one factor is just plain unscientific and illogical. There are many factors to be addressed for each person and they all have their own unique solution.
Your title is click-bait and this is nowhere near the level of quality of information, or presentation, that I have come to expect from DNews. This seems like an attempt at gross oversimplification that has firmly crossed the line right into becoming entirely inaccurate... In combination with inaccuracies and unscientific assumptions, which are that in themselves. For an issue that so strongly effects the very users who this video seems aimed at in particular (adolescents suffering from acne and breakouts), I would have expected more useful and accurate information, for the benefit of your watchers.
