TOMATO JUICE - CANNING (OAG 2014)

When making tomato juice you get a much richer flavor if you extract the pulp not just the liquid. That is what this video is about. The food mill brand name is: Foley Food Mill. It does a great job of removing the seeds and skins and pressing the remaining pulp out the bottom. This was the season of 2014. If you have questions, send me a PM. Thanks for watching!

Janette Lavender: Awesome canning set up. Im going to start canning outside. Less fuss and cleaning. I have tones of juice left over from my tomato canning. What a great way to use it all!! I take it you don't flavor yours except salt. Ever use the hand crank Vitorio or Squeezo juicers? I have one. They are old timers and work great for this. They are a bit less work than the style you have.

mylightofhope: Hey OAG! I'm getting ready tomorrow can some tonight and came to see how you did it. I like that fancy thermometer you use, never saw one of those. But I was really digging the water bath canning set up you have going!! I'm curious though, why do you heat the juice to 190 if the juice will be heated anyway in the water bath?
