this video about Histrionic Personality Disorder is not meant as a tool for you to diagnose yourself but rather as a way to better understand what HPD is. Histrionic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people act in a very emotional and dramatic way that draws attention to themselves. Cause of histrionic personality disorder is unknown. Genes and early childhood events may be responsible. It is diagnosed more often in women than in men. Doctors believe that more men may have the disorder than are diagnosed. Histrionic personality disorder usually begins by late teens or early 20s. Symptoms include: Acting or looking overly seductive Being easily influenced by other people Being overly concerned with their looks Being overly dramatic and emotional Being overly sensitive to criticism or disapproval Believing that relationships are more intimate than they actually are Blaming failure or disappointment on others Constantly seeking reassurance or approval Having a low tolerance for frustration or delayed gratification Needing to be the center of attention (self-centeredness) Quickly changing emotions, which may seem shallow to others DOWNLOAD MY FREE WORKBOOKS HERE... Celeste Brusciano: wow!!! I am so thankful for finding this!! I was diagnosed with a borderline personality with histrionic traits.... I read the 64 page psych assesment...and didn't fully ever understand what this meant... I did go to intensive psychotherapy and finished successfully!! but was never fully disclosed on the histrionic trait meaning... I was quite young when I was diagnosed with adhd... and later on at 22 with the previous diagnosis. For me I identify with this criteria about 50%
Emily Carter: Oh god, this sounds a lot like me...
Rachel Evans: Is this a form of NPD, and, if so, is it really treatable?
Rachel Evans: Thank you very much for this.
Michael battle: Dude I think my friend has this... maybe she just a hoe idk
furstenfeldbruck: W-why are you looking into my soul!?
Steph: Unable to take survey: yes or no does not work. How come???
Brooklyn Kelash: let's just say that a huge fucking part of the fact that people with hpd get increasingly worse is because the lack of support they have. you want us to clean up our acts and get help but look at these comments? extremely triggering to someone with hpd. the world is insensitive towards the "ugly" mental disorders. mental illness isn't always pretty, in fact it can be quite ugly. but people giving up on us is what makes it hard for us to recover. there is a person behind every mental disorder regardless of how ugly the disorder is. people need people to get through things. please, be respectful. EVERYONE reads the comment section, definitely not just people who are uninformed about hpd, but people who may think they have it. i respect this you tuber for explaining a mental illness in a non judge mental non biased way. shes obviously very professional. i dont trust informitive YouTube videos where the you tuber is biased on a certain illness. an you can usually tell not 30 seconds in. if someone is trying to figure out if they have hpd and reads the comment section they will literally go into denial. who the fuck would want to admit they had this disorder after reading all of these disrespectful and hateful comments. even if you have been hurt by someone who has this disorder you have NO IDEA the emotional and mental rollercoster that personality disordered survivors deal with in a day to day basis. give people with personality disorders credit. especially considering there is lack of help and research in the mh community for personality disordered people already.
Audiophilifix: Makes sooo much sense now. In search for my SELF I see their SELF.
Melanie Sander: OMG This sounds just like my ex best friend! I always wondered if she had a personality disorder tbh.
0tube0user: excuse me ... what are your credentials?
Nick Melisaratos: KT... very well said...
Marie-Josée Charette: Hey! That seems to be me to some degree. This is weird and kinda exiting. But the reason you said are not quite that.. Example I am a nervous person and have a illness that affect the nervous system..so sometimes I talk a lot and quick and it is because I am out of balance and not so at ease. The other thing is I don't care about not fitting most of the time. I am quite independent and know I don't fit in everywhere plus I don't fake interest. Do you think I ca still have this disorder? Thank you
Vanity Rae: you have a major wonky eye in the thumbnail
Libertina Grimm: "Today, I'm going to tell you why you're so fucked up? Stay tuned...
LOL, just kidding, Kati. You're great
Andrew Marlow: think maybe this could be me
Every1luvzME: Kim K suffers from this
The Fluffy Rooster: You resemble Nicole Sullivan.
Gracee Cleveland: If someone was raised to be dramatic by their parents and the parents are dramatic and that grown child grows up wanting to be center of attention to the extreme, calling police making false reports on several people and has been arrested once for falsifying information to police... would that be historic personality disorder or something else? The person craves attention to the extreme of lying and always having police involvement when the person can't get attention or "you don't do things that persons way"...
Abbey McKillin it: I've had concerns with my thoughts and actions (all based on research) but nobody takes me seriously because im not 18 yet and it really frustrates me because i know it's not normal but noooooooo im just being a teenager that will do anything to get attention which is ACTUALLY A SYMPTOM OF SEVERAL PERSONALITY DISORDERS
