this video about Histrionic Personality Disorder is not meant as a tool for you to diagnose yourself but rather as a way to better understand what HPD is. Histrionic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people act in a very emotional and dramatic way that draws attention to themselves. Cause of histrionic personality disorder is unknown. Genes and early childhood events may be responsible. It is diagnosed more often in women than in men. Doctors believe that more men may have the disorder than are diagnosed. Histrionic personality disorder usually begins by late teens or early 20s. Symptoms include: Acting or looking overly seductive Being easily influenced by other people Being overly concerned with their looks Being overly dramatic and emotional Being overly sensitive to criticism or disapproval Believing that relationships are more intimate than they actually are Blaming failure or disappointment on others Constantly seeking reassurance or approval Having a low tolerance for frustration or delayed gratification Needing to be the center of attention (self-centeredness) Quickly changing emotions, which may seem shallow to others DOWNLOAD MY FREE WORKBOOKS HERE... Andrew Marlow: think maybe this could be me
Every1luvzME: Kim K suffers from this
The Fluffy Rooster: You resemble Nicole Sullivan.
Gracee Cleveland: If someone was raised to be dramatic by their parents and the parents are dramatic and that grown child grows up wanting to be center of attention to the extreme, calling police making false reports on several people and has been arrested once for falsifying information to police... would that be historic personality disorder or something else? The person craves attention to the extreme of lying and always having police involvement when the person can't get attention or "you don't do things that persons way"...
Abbey McKillin it: I've had concerns with my thoughts and actions (all based on research) but nobody takes me seriously because im not 18 yet and it really frustrates me because i know it's not normal but noooooooo im just being a teenager that will do anything to get attention which is ACTUALLY A SYMPTOM OF SEVERAL PERSONALITY DISORDERS
Believe-in-you 123: Hahaha... omgoodness. Ty. I have a Somatic narcissistic co-worker, and she called me this.. I understand now why. I'm very animated, and I have my own sense of style, however I dress for me, and I'm really personable. I'm like the group counselor, because I don't judge and in reality I'm very private. I have caught her several times mimicking my style, which is fine that's quite the compliment. I think she gets mad because the guys tend to hang out with me, because I am more like one of the guys and I'm more chill. They don't have to worry about going home smelling like perfume, because I'm trying to shove boobs in their face. As much interactions through my childhood and adult life that I've had with cluster B type personality disorders, this is one I'm not familiar with.
James George: damn. i always end up in tears at the end of these episodes.
Sonam Lotlikar: What is the difference between histrionic and narcissistic personality disorder? do histrionics have empathy? what is the key difference? their symptoms seem to overlap so much... in what way histrionic manipulation differs from narcissist manipulation?
Super.S: What is the differance between this and Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
Bianca Polo: I work with a coworker who has all of these symptoms
Joanne Cushman: Most of these "personality disorders" are rooted in a sense of entitlement. I'm looking for a date outside the realm, or else suffer a life full of dramas, lol.
Claude Dixon: Is a successful relationship possible with these people?
John Smith: Any personality disorder just means that you're unable to cope with how fucked up the world is, in different ways.
Janet Mc Williams: I liked the video but was disappointed that you didn't give gd examples of those traits and when you did it came off very scatty. ..you even said it's hard to understand
Conway79: I must be the furthest thing from this. I hate to be the centre of attention.
Nolan Barham: all right, help me out here. i like to talk VERY verbosely and often recite quotes in normal conversation, i like to dress in suits and other clothing of the sort, i often feel ignored and uncomfortable when people are having conversations without me and i prefer having a group of friends around me. im not usually activly sexual or seductive but im not opposed to doing sexual acts with strangers and (even though i have no personal attraction to men) i will probably perform homosexual sex acts for bets, i also tend to perceiverelationships to be more intamate then they actually are. i have a very a clear sense of self, but its very theatric, like being a misunderstood villain or a to-be glorious warrior. the question then becomes, am i hpd?
Mrs. JellyBean.: I knew someone who had all those symptoms and she used to really annoy me. I couldn't be her friend bc of it and dropped her. at the time I thought she was just highly insecure, now I know.
Lisa Bunnie: I love your blouse. My therapist always wears dark colors.
Katieboil Anegg: Jade Rossiter from Red Ruth - summed up to a T!
