EC A: My issue is lowering cortisol. So. Much. Stress. Trying to find time and get myself to meditate more, do yoga more...🤦🏽♀️ So much to do in every single day. Being autistic I'm struggling with my schedule, my ADD, OCD and then there's a constant massive stress in my life that I'm trying to eliminate but I've not all the control over it, yet. I've had high levels of cortisol for many many years. I guess it's just gonna take time.
Steven Turner: Logic dictated that if
1. Your not eating carbs or a very low carb (5g) intake
2. A moderate protein intake
3. A high fat intake 65 - 70%
and your energy is good or high then your body must be using burning fat and producing ketons for energy your body will take awhile to adapt but in the end it will start to burn fat for energy
Jenn Martinello: Keto for almost two months. I take. A Benzo for seizures and anxiety. My doc made a huge mistake and left me without meds for five days. I was sick but Keto helped with the horrors of the anxiety and trying to keep a clear mind. Other than high BP it helped. I have zero appetite. Sleep good, and lost 9.8lbs so far and am hypothyroidism.

Mikael Hansson: Thank you for making your videos! Following your advice, it finally made sense to me why I was struggling to lose weight on my ketogenic diet! I was putting in extreme effort to get 80% of my energy intake from fat and it made me gain weight. Then it makes perfect sense to me now when you are saying you need to up the protein and keep the fat moderate! I'm starting from today and hopefully I will start losing weight again! Cheers Bro!
Brandon Brown: I just started the diet a couple weeks ago. Lost 10 pounds already. I have epilepsy and narcolepsy, but I'm undecided on whether I will drop meds or not. In response to the mention of the ketone test strips, I wanted to explain why I decided to use them. There was a guest on Ben Greenfield's podcast who talked about blood vs urine tests and she said at first she did the blood tests to quantitatively measure the ketone levels.She had some sort of illness she needed to be in ketosis for. She then stated that after that 6 month mark, she basically just needed to know whether she was in ketosis or not. I was sold on the urine strips only at that point. They're cheaper and less painful. I'm using them to experiment. Since I just started the diet, I wanted to test to see if anything will throw me out of ketosis. As an example, I used the test strips 3-4 times the other day. I wanted to see my rough levels before and a few different times after eating a Luigi's italian Ice. If I were to drop my epilepsy meds in the future, it would be good to know whether something like that would potentially have a negative affect.
I totally agree with the joking though. Some people are overly worried about the number.

the specialists I've listened to have said that just because your body is producing ketone bodies, that doesn't mean that you actually burning them for fuel, or how effectively you are using them.

toto wolf: I did a one day fast and jumped in...1st thing i notices three days in is I am rarely hungry although I was starving before bed my first night and I have energy all day with no iOS or downs like I did when I ate carbs
Absolutely no hunger pains...my stomach does get a little bloated for an hour though after eating
