http:\\mikeroussell.com In this installment of Ask Dr. Mike, Dr. Mike addresses a Facebook fan's question regarding metabolic adaptation to ketogenic diets. - Ketosis is not weight loss - Ketosis and diabetic ketoacidosis are not the same and should not be confused Keys to ketogenic success include: 1. increase fat, don't cut calories 2. deplete glycogen stores quickly 3. keep protein in check 4. decrease calories as needed, while keeping fat up 5. give it time! nycgemini7222: Ty for this informative video however I have a question with regards to protein intake. If you're exercising a great deal, would it be okay to change up the macro nutrients percentage and increase protein intake? Or is it wiser to remain as strict as possible?
Paorto Lucas: I identified keto diet books that aid our diet issues

This keto diet source help me a bunch..
LolaandElsasMom: So if I was one of those who jumped in and went low-ish calorie on keto , lost in the first week then stalled and because of this made my metabolism worse is it best to just keep going and it will work itself out or go back to the start and not concern myself with calories? I'm 2 months in and still not sure I have adapted. I know I am producing ketones but not sure I am using them as have only had brief glimpses into feeling like I expect to feel.
Jake Romero: Doc, excellent video. Love it. Thanks for explaining keto diets adaptation.

Diamond Johnson: How many grams a day of protein is needed on this diet?
Jamiul Kabir Hasan: Hello there, have you thought about this kind of diet plan known as the Fenoboci Diet Plan? My cooworker says it helps people lost plenty of weight. Is that possible? I also heard numerous excellent review about this diet plan. Thoughts?
Gil The Aware Wolf: Once you've become keto adapted then come out of ketosis for lets say 2-3 months. Does keto adaptation happen quicker the second time around?
David Shorkey: Thanks for the Keto commentary. I've been trying to go Keto for a couple days now and was wondering when it will kick in. I've got the Keto breath but no results on the blood glucose readings yet. My diet is about 65% fat, 7% carb, and 28% protein. I've done all the calculations and take a couple table spoons of coconut oil several times per day to boost the fat without affecting carbs or protein. Wow! My calories are high but I couldn't care less because I so darned skinny.
Melanie Violet: SIMPLY PUT, WHAT MOST DIETS ACCOMPLISH IN 2-3 MONTHS,
THE 3 WEEK DIET DOES IN JUST 21 DAYS, INCLUDING:
12-23 pound reduction in body weight
2-4 inches from your waistline
2-3 size drop in dress size
Increased muscle tone
Healthier hair & skin
Improved cholesterol levels
And a host of other healthy benefits
Lando Spachemin: It seems really complicated but I lost my medical licence.
Corey Brockamp: Great Video on the subject. Answered nearly all my questions thanks MIke.
ZapHMinder: This is a very informative video. Thank you!
BarbellaFitness: very informative video
Jennifer Morris: Great video. Thank you!
JBT - Music: I was really worried about continuing my strength training (high weights, low reps) while doing the keto diet. From what you said, when you become keto-adapted, you are able to lift high weights. I am in a keto-like-cold at the moment (first few days), and am very tired. I missed training today because of this. When should I start training with high weights again/or can I?
