where's my rooptoff: What kind of vegetables are best for people like me who don't usually like vegetables? (Cabbage and broccoli mainly)
John Veca: Your advice is very good regarding the processed and organic foods. Forget about organic as it's not necessary, but ditching the processed crap is essential. Fruits, veggies, eggs, nuts, whole grains, all the really good stuff that our bodies really like. And remember, small batch craft beer typically contains all natural ingredients, but be careful. The calorie hit can be high if overdone.
1695kitkat: Where in the world is she going to grocery shop? Where I live the processed junk is far cheaper than whole foods.
sweetie pie: U are just so amazing..really helpful tips
Michael Rush: Joanna, about how much money do I need to budget on a tight budget each month to eat this way on a budget, on average? $100? $150? $200? Thank you.
TheSaltyBeard: 20 tips from Joanna Soh - Timestamps and Too long did not watch version.
1 - 0:50 Forget about Brands! Buy Generic/Store brands - it's all the same. Saves money.
2 - 1:41 Buy sale items (hur dur). Go late at night, almost closed, will find most of these items at that time apparently.
3 - 2:27 Buy in bulk
4 - 3:14 Buy Frozen Vegetables
5 - 4:00 Buy more vegetables and put more in meals, cheaper than meat and such!
6 - 4:28 Find cheap protein, like eggs, chicken fillets, fish, etc.
7 - 5:17 Buy whole foods, usually cheaper and healthier.
8 - 6:02 Don't worry about organic if you're on a budget.
9 - 7:24 Buy Seasonal fruits and vegetables
10 - 7:51 Shop local markets, sometimes much cheaper
11 - 8:27 Keep it simple and 'eat like the locals'. Local foods are generally cheaper than imported. IE: Milk and cheese are pretty cheap in west, toffuu is cheap in asia.
12 - 9:13 Avoid impulse buying, buy things that are needed, avoid simply wants. Make a list, go in, get your stuff, get out.
13 - 9:46 Cook in bulk. Saves money and time. Stick in fridge and freezer.
14 - 10:15 Learn to store food properly. IE: Freezing and such.
15 - 11:01 Keep meals simple. Complicated meals take too long, costs too much, stressful, etc.
16 - 11:46 Cut junk food out completely/as much as possible. Healthier and cheaper if can be replaced with healthier alternatives.
17 - 12:24 Gift cards, coupons, pointscards, etc.
18 - 12:55 Don't buy water, ie bottles of water.
19 - 13:12 Quantity doesn't always equal quality. Certain foods fill you up longer than others, ie: (some kind of bread vs white bread, couldn't understand her.)
20 - 14:05 Mix 'unhealthy' with 'healthy' if healthy is more expensive. ie: Brown rice with white rice in the same dish.
woodchuck 00: If you like buying organic food and your opinion is that it is better then you should. Just know that it is not more nutritious; the taste is 100% objective; depending on where you get your organic food from it may not be sustainable and may uses chemicals you don't normally think of as organic; you are also paying about 30% more for no reason other then the fact they put an organic sticker on it.
Reece Hayden: "Buy dem in bulks"
Bahareh Ghetmiri: Hey girl. Thanks good tips
Arcey dear: You are so on target! I love the fact that you are so helpful with relevant tips!
Korby Waters: Your actually entertaining... I love your energy and accent... where is it from?
rob mckenley: I’ll be old enough to get a job next year and I honestly can’t wait. I’ve been wanting to eat healthy for a while but I can’t afford it and obviously I still live at home so I just have to deal with what my mom buys. Every time I try to talk to her about getting/eating healthier she just laughs and shuts me down.
Jules Roberts: You can get 15 free range eggs from Lidls for £1.79!!
Never any need to buy eggs from caged hens.
Elsa&lisa: Really great practical information. I'm really liking your videos!
Noelkinz G.Roman: ARE YOU ON THE BUDGET? YOUR SEXY
Aaron Pearce: I'm guessing Laotian, Vietnamese or Cambodian.
Aaron Pearce: You sound like you're from Southeast Asia
Aaron Pearce: You are fantastic ..
Asian, British accent, brilliant and cheeky
Do you have any great recipes ?
Btw beautiful .
Danny Provolone: Hey, crazy animal rights people, how bout you buy us caged free eggs? Oh no? It's too expensive? Love how they talk about animals life's thinking they're not selfish yet they scream in your face about being poor and buying caged eggs. Fuck off and do something about it instead of scolding these innocent poor people trying to be healthy.
Emily Parker: Everyone is complaining about her buying caged chicken eggs and "those poor chickens", but no one bats an eyelash about, you know, the dead frozen chicken in a bag. Irony at it's best.
