KenDBerryMD: Please, please share this with someone you care about who suffers from Anxiety or Depression because it could help so much! 😊😊😊

Gary Maskell: I'll be sharing with those I counsel!

Linda Logan: I have been binge watching for weeks! Over and over again. Each time I find something new and share it on Facebook! Thank you so much for helping all of us who are desperate for knowledge and understanding!

Laura Petchell: What if weight loss is not needed? My teen son, doesn't need to lose weight, but he is often depressed. He does tend to eat too many carbs, and doesn't like many meats in general. He was diagnosed with a mild form of ticks at a young age and has had problem eating since then. Now, he is an early college student pushing himself too hard. I've given him links to your videos hoping he will listen to them. Thanks.

Ev: I 100% believe this to be true. Thanks so much for spreading this message.

mzEmilemz: Ok, you have convinced me to find another doc. I love her, but everything she's put me on is not helping me with weight loss, anxiety, stress, etc.. I've been doing keto for a couple months now with hardly any scale movement but my clothes fit better. I'm reading more into it and have not lost hope. It does however feel like my heart is fluttering again, is that a sign of something?  My doc did the stress test and labs before and it was all good. She said it was part of anxiety and wanted me to just take melatonine, but it was causing bad dreams. Eventually went away but I noticed it started back up after changing my diet. I'm just keeping it simple (no macro counting) along with your recommended vitamins. I've noticed less hunger and more energy but do I need to add anything else to stop the fluttering?  Also got my mom interested in doing this and she is extremely HIGH carb!! Thanks for breaking it all down for us laymen :)

shapaco89: I am doing the keto diet for this reason only (I'm a rather skinny guy). I'm at week one and I'm having a lot of side effects which slowly are decreasing (testicular pain and bloody sphincter worry me the most). I hope it is not just my imagination but I have less anxiety in the morning which i have allways felt in my stomach. Now i just need to replace coffee with somethin else cuz it is also having a toll on my stomach. I hope everything goes well and I survive another few weeks :)

Gerard Martel: Thank you so much for making a guide free to down load, I'm very interested in starting to follow a keto diet but I'm unable to purchase the required books at this time. This guide should be just what I needed to get me started until I'm able to buy further required information.

Aisha Jaha: Dr. Berry Dr. Berry do you know if Keto or rather the low carb aspect of it can occasionally cause a bit blurred vision. I do have an astigmatism but nothing more than a reader is needed. No diabetes either. Thanks

Angelie Marquez: I notice lately I've been more anxious than ever... I'm trying to figure why the keto diet is not helping me with that... maybe should log my food and see if I need to change anything ?

Dorothy Sullivan: I have to tell you, I suffered from suicidal depression for over 30 years. I quit eating wheat, and after about 3 weeks i woke up one morning and thought, "Wow, I'm not sad and depressed anymore!" and yes, I have tested it, and if i eat that slice of birthday cake and my nieces party, it takes 3 weeks for the effects to wear off again.

Serenity Goodwyn: It’s a double whammy as a keto diet also increases GABA a calming neurotransmitter. I experience bipolar disorder and a ketogenic diet has worked like magic where medication failed and had horrendous side effects. Only side effects from the diet, drier skin/eyes, weight loss (had plenty to lose), sleep 100% better, no hangry episodes (everyone around me appreciates that one), fewer allergies.

Sharon Duerr: Great info thanks!

DEB GERALDI: Can’t find the link

Mr november: Hey Dr Berry, Love this vid. Just out of curiosity can you do a video on medical cannabis for depression and anxiety? I’d like to know a wholistic/naturopathic drs take on it. Also can you use cannabis on Keto?

Faiza Khan: Thanks a lot
Could you please shed some light on how might fibromyalgia be related to diet? And how keto improves it?

Aliya Tudor: I agree wholeheartedly!! I was on prestiq xr for anxiety for 2 years. I weaned off of it and the withdrawals about killed me lol Keto for me is better than any RX or mood stabilizer. Zero side effects too.

sazji: I had a lot of mood swings for years, as well as migraines. I was also so sugar-addicted that there were some days when I realized I’d eaten nothing but sweets all day. Then I’d eat something green to make myself feel better. ;-) I didn’t know about Keto at the time but I did the “end of dieting” diet, which cut out all refined sugar, “white” carbs and grains (carbs mostly from legumes to avoid the carb spike) a big salad every day, a big serving or more of dark leafy greens, oils mostly from seeds. Over about 4 months I went from 240 pounds to 185 pounds (I’m 6’2”), which was great, but I also stopped having mood and energy swings (surprise surprise!) and the migraines went away. Once I got past the sugar cravings - it took about 3 days - the rest was actually easy. BUT my blood pressure went high (actually had a hypertensive crisis...there was extreme stress at one point too). I’m active and walk a lot every day, and also run when I can.

So I’ve read that many people on the keto diet have had their BP normalize. I tried it last summer but honestly after a week I felt like crap, with sudden energy drops with dizziness. Now I’m trying it again, paying more attention to electrolytes, and though I have had a few drops here and there, I was mostly feeling normal after 2-3 days. It’s been a week now, so I’ll see how it goes long-term. I realize blood pressure is a multifaceted issue but I’d love to hear your take on it vis a vis keto. Thanks for all you share here!

Jennifer Robison: I just downloaded the eBook, and its simplicity is great, thank you! I do have a question though: under the oils section, you list sesame oil as one to avoid, but in with the Nuts & Seeds both sesame seeds and tahini are on the good list. Is this because of the way it is processed or additives? Why the difference?

Liz Santonne: Hey Dr. Barry! I have PTSD and I cannot put into words how much keto has helped me. I was having night terrors at least 4-5 times a week. Since I started keto I have maybe 1-2 a month if not less. My anxiety has lowered, my mood has elevated, and my anxiety has dropped. When I do get depressed I find it is way easier to get myself out of it and it only lasts about a day. It is ridiculous how much better I feel physically and mentally.
