Charlie Andrews Demonstrates on how to make Homemade Buttermilk pancakes from scratch! Easy recipe! Recipe are as follows Makes 5 jumbo pancakes for 1 to 2 people. 1/2 Cup of batter per pancake Also makes 10 small pancakes for kids. Just add 1/4 cup of batter per pancake! What you'll need! 1 Cup All Purpose Flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/4 Cup Sugar 1/2 Cup Buttermilk 1/2 Cup Whole Milk 1 Egg 1/2 Stick Butter (Melted and at room temperature) 1, In a large bowl Add 1 Cup All Purpose Flour, 1 tablespoon of Baking Powder, 1/4 Cup of Sugar and mix with large spoon. 2,Once Finished mixing dry ingredients, set bowl aside. For wet ingredients you will need a smaller bowl. 3, In a small bowl, Add 1/2 Cup Buttermilk, 1/2 Cup Regular milk, 1 egg and mix with whisk until well combined. 4, Add the melted 1/2 stick of Unsalted Butter (At room temperature) and mix until well combined 5,Once done mixing, You can add the optional ingredients I have listed (Honey, Cinnamon, or Vanilla extract) Add whatever flavoring you like and mix until well blended 6, Add wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix really well. NOTE: Batter will be slightly lumpy BUT you have mix it real well to get the lumps out. What you want is a smooth, lump free batter. 7,Turn your fire on medium high heat 8, Add I teaspoon of butter into frying pan. Make sure butter covers the entire surface of the frying pan 9, Add 1/2 OR 1/4 Cup of pancake batter into pan. If you are making 5 jumbo pancakes for 2 people then add 1/2 of batter into pan. If you want smaller pancakes add 1/4 cup of pancake batter into frying pan. 10,Turn your fire down from medium high to medium low heat 11, Let Pancake set for 2 to 3 minutes before you flip it. NOTE: To tell if your pancake is done, you will notice that the batter will be bubbly on the surface on the top of your pancake and when you lift the edge of your pancake with a spatula, there will be no overflow of pancake batter. 12, Turn your fire from medium low to medium high heat, and quickly flip your pancake over. then quickly turn your fire from medium high to medium low heat and let set for two minutes. Pancake should be a nice Golden Brown Color. 13, After two minutes turn your fire OFF and flip your pancake again, the other side should be a nice golden brown color. Add into serving plate. 14, Repeat steps 7 thru 13 until all your Pancake batter is gone! Once finished, serve with a dollip of butter on top followed by the syrup going at different angles on the top of the pancakes. If you want more you can double the recipe which I have the ingredients listed below and follow the instructions 1 thru 14 and enjoy!!! Double recipe (For those who want more) Feeds to large amounts of people. Makes 10 Jumbo pancakes for 5 people. 2 pancakes per person or 3 jumbo pancakes for 3 people. 1/2 Cup Pancake batter ALSO makes 20 small pancakes (great for kids) can feed up to 10 kids. 2 pancakes per kid or 3 pancakes for 7 kids. Warning. Follow steps 1 thru 14 from the previous recipe BUT using the amount of ingredients from this recipe. 2 Cups All Purpose Flour 2 tablespoons of Baking Powder 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Buttermilk 1 Cup Regular Milk 2 eggs 1 stick of Unsalted Butter (Melted and at Room Temperature) 1,Using this double recipe, Repeat steps 1-14 using the smaller recipe BUT you are using the amounts for THIS double recipe!

Black and Gold: You should get a griddle or cast iron skillet to make these in. The results are much better.
BTW, adding some whole milk to the buttermilk gives it a richer flavor and texture. I use this technique when I make waffles.

faraboverubies98: I make my homemade pancakes the same way but I make my own "buttermilk" by squeezing 1 tbsp of lemon juice in regular milk and let it sit for 5 mins. Great recipe, Charlie!
NiCole Sky: I made these for a nice weekend breakfast and they were the perfect pancakes! The only thing I did was subbed 1/4 cup of coconut oil for the 1/2 cup of butter and it worked great! They were absolutely delicious!! My new go-to pancakes!
