ekatlaterrible: Interesting video, but it would be much more helpful if you detailed the "3 steps" in depth. What is the "D.R.E.S.S"? How much meat is enough? I am suffering from chronic fatigue (needing long naps in the middle of most days just to function) coupled with generalized anxiety and depression (obviously) and I need specific actions I can integrate into my life. Yes, eating more veggies and moving more is obvious, but I need a plan with more specificity in order to be able to succeed. Let me know if ever you add more explanations in another video. Total Body Fitness: Just curious if you actually did a 24 hour urine test to get a clear picture of where your cortisol levels were at different times of the day/night?
As a professional in the health and fitness industry for nearly 30 years I always order a 24 hour urine for my clients to see what is going on instead of guessing. Because simply changing your eating habits can make all the difference in the world when it comes to healing, and healing nutritional deficiencies can eliminate all the symptoms you were having. Not saying you didn't have adrenal fatigue, but without conducting the proper tests, you'd be guessing.
Adrenal fatigue happens in stages and if you exercise while you are in a latter stage you will create what we call an adrenal crash. The body needs all the rest it can get in most stages of adrenal fatigue.
Steps to heal
1. Reset your circadian rhythm by going to bed at 10pm and waking up at 6am. Taking melatonin about an hour before sleep can help with the reset.
2. When you first wake up in the morning take a teaspoon of cream of tartar for potassium and a 1/4 teaspoon of celtic sea salt mixed in 16 ounces of water and drink it within 15 minutes.
3. Refrain from exercise if cortisol proves to be flat-lined through testing. This step will vary depending on severity and stage of adrenal fatigue. Exercise can ONLY be done when cortisol levels peak early in the day which is why a 24 urine test is so important. If you try to exercise while cortisol is flat-lined you will create more problems!
4. Eat properly as you stated in the video.
5. Try not to nap during the day as it can throw off your circadian rhythm and you will be back to square one.
If you wake up more than 3 times during sleep, then sleep in for as long as possible up to 10 hours. SLEEP is VERY IMPORTANT for adrenal recovery!
There is much more to this and it's really tailored based on what stage of adrenal fatigue you are in, but the above steps can heal most people in a short time.
A simple test a person can do at home is taking their oral temperature with a 30 second digital thermometer in the morning when you first wake up. If the temperature is any lower than 97.8 that could be a true sign of adrenal fatigue IF your afternoon temperature rises. For example, if your morning temp is 97.2 and your late afternoon temp is at least 98.4, then most likely adrenal fatigue. Low temp all day indicates thyroid issue, but adrenal fatigue can cause thyroid issue as well, so a lot more to this because you can have both going on at the same time and that's why a 24 urine test is so important.
In any case if someone suspects they have adrenal fatigue, I urge them to do a 24 urine test (I said it again) to measure cortisol otherwise you will never know what is going on and you surely don't want to guess when it comes to this problem.

Kyle Randall: I’ve been dealing with extreme fatigue for years now and up until recently through some research I’ve considered that I may have adrenal fatigue. It’s been so long I’m starting to think I’ll never get my energy back. Whatever is going on is truly debilitating. It all started after I graduated college and quit taking the adderall I was prescribed. Since them I’ve been constantly tired and my skin is super dry. Anyway, Can anybody tell me if they have experience this and overcame it? And if so, how? I’ve talked to so many people about this and nobody can seem to relate. It would be nice to hear a success story of overcoming extreme fatigue/adrenal fatigue.
