Once you have your protein value set and are getting under 30g (for most people) of net carbs from fibrous vegetables, fatswill make up the rest of the "calories" on a ketogenic diet...in the beginning it's best ot to go into too much of a deficit while adapting, this can be stressful on the body - it may also be best to taper up the fats slowly while adapting to keto.

Lennard: People still don't seem to get what he was trying to explain here, so let me try to do it for you step by step.

Carbs:
- Let's say you need 2000 calories a day to lose approx. 0.5 kilograms per week. You don't want to eat more than 30 grams of carbs per day, so that's your limit. One gram of carbs is equal to four calories, so 30 * 4 = 120 kcal. This means you got 1880 calories left to consume. Those calories will come from protein and fat.

Protein:
- Your goal is to lose weight. Depending on how active you are and if you do weight lifting, you can calculate your desired protein intake. I for example can consume about 180 grams of protein. One gram of protein is equal to four calories, so 180 * 4 = 720 kcal. This means you now got (1880 - 720) = 1160 kcal to consume.

Fat:
- This is the easiest part. Those 1160 kcal will all come from fat. One gram of fat is equal to nine calories, so 1160 divided by 9 is around 130 grams. This means you can eat 130 grams of fat per day.

Shortly said: your goal is to eat around 2000 calories per day, 30 grams of carbs, 180 grams of protein and 130 grams of fat if you want to lose weight.
