STALLING on a KETOGENIC DIET? Don't make this COMMON MISTAKE, aggressive calorie restriction

Coaching, skype consultations: http://www.primaledgehealth.com/coaching Don't paint yourself into a corner when trying to lose bodyfat - aggressively restricting calories for long periods of time results in adaptations of your metabolism. Restricting calories too much causes leptin levels plummet and energy expenditure goes down - then you stall and drop calories even lower...this is a vicious cycle that often confuses and frustrates people. When you stall, it's not always wise to restrict calories more - assess your situation and make sure you are not looking at water retention. Sometimes increasing caloric intake will HELP the situation as your body adjusts to its new setpoint. Increasing food intake and thus increasing metabolism and decreasing the stress on your body can be helpful in avoiding the pitfalls of obsessive dieting. Remember, fat loss is not a linear journey and there can be long term negative consequences to starving yourself with aggressive obsessive dieting.

Land of Ling: I've been on keto for about 13 weeks and have gone from 210 to 178 but I've been stalled at this weight for almost 3 weeks. I resistance train 3-4 times a week and do a 20-35 minutes of cardio following the training too. I realized I had been under eating a couple weeks ago and have corrected that and yet I'm not decreasing. What would be your next step I guess? I was told by a body builder to go about 800 calories over my maintenance one day every 2 weeks.

Miz Dottie: I wasn't tracking calories and just eating only when hungry and just till satiated. Initially I dropped 25 lbs in about a month but then I stalled for about three weeks so I started tracking calories and found out I was only eating about 700 kcals/day. I wasn't hungry but that number made me a little uncomfortable so I bumped it up to 1,400. That was on Wednesday. Thursday I woke up 3 lbs down so I ate the same 1,400 kcals and this morning was down another 1.2 lbs. I'm hoping the downward momentum on the scale continues.

Spyros Venieris: Following a ketogenic diet might turn you into a communist dictator

wakeywakey: Dang I stalled after a month into keto lost 20 then nothing on inches or pounds for last 3 weeks. Im 253 and taking in about 1500 calories a day.

Jacqueline Youmans: Exactly what I needed to here.

Wendy Nichols: Thanks. Been eating maintenance tdee, and just slightly over lately. Am 12+ weeks keto, bouncing back & forth from 17-15 lb. loss. Feeling a bit stalled, trying not to freak out.
Upped my fats, then body fat % dropped for the first time. Like almost 3%. So...I've gotten used to eating more fat to keep satiated. 175-190 g per day ~ Should I drop my fat down?
I keep protein at 50 g and carbs at 20 g (mostly under, around 7-12 g)
I do not snack. I do not use/consume almond flour, or coconut flour, etc. I do not eat fat-bombs.
I am lightly active, with hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue. 52 years old, 5'7" wanting to lose 60 lbs. *lost 15-17 lb's since middle of Aug. ~ It seems slow going, but feel like my body is healing from the inside out
I am looking different. My cortisol belly is reducing.
Prior to keto I had very little appetite, very low caloric intake. But, also ate lots of veggies & fruits. (Carbs) Never rice, very minimal bread, very rarely pasta or potatoes, no cereal, etc.
My inflammation and depression on ketogenic diet lifted almost immediately. <-- that's huge!
Grateful for all this information and implementing as I go. I am learning to Trust this process. *the damned scale needs tossing! 😉 {wink}

tri pham: omg it is exactly what you said...i eat one meal a day..at around 9pm ....and it is exactly how you said..my weight stop drop like when i first started...

Alex C: Thanks man , good stuff . Appreciate it

martin goyles: Professional bodybuilders seem to cut down to single digits bodyfat percentage on a timed consistent basis. If I had 8 weeks to lose 20lbs I would fail because of stalling.

The organic weight loss process without drugs and hormones is a long tedious arduous frustrating process. No wonder people give up on dieting and stay fat.

ketoman ketoman: Hello, thanks for your info. I gonna ask you if you know the difference from metabolic diet and keto diet. Thanks in advance.

jorge m: hi, nice info on your videos, i need your help, i been on keto for 3 monts, i lost 40 lb allready, i fit on size 34 now , but i see that my body fut is not going doun, im on 31% body fat, when i start this diet i was on 33%. i am not working out eader. please help mee. thanks alot for what you do. thanks

Remi J: After I plateau and start eating more calories, when do I start going back to eating my weight loss macros?

Crissy: thanks for the important information, but all I can think is "gosh he's handsome".

Mario Ljoljo: can you correct leptin levels with fat?

Chris Ewalt: man this advice was just what i needed. been on keto for a year with great progress. been at a stall for past 2 months

Eric Taylor Guilmette: Thanks for the great advice man. Not stalling on my cut yet, but if I do, I'll keep it in mind to bump my calories back up to maintenance for a while.

Dangela Geason: awsome vidoe very informative😄 ok so my situation is definitely alot different then most people. and thats probably whats got me so stressed out do to that fact doing the keto diet. i am a 30 year old female only 5'6 and 401.2lbs yes you heard right 401.2lbs now i know alot of pepole are probably going to say geez I'm better off just getting weight loss surgery and that maybe true but with my severe depression and anxiety issues since 17 years old i am just not ready for it and i dont know if my body could handle it. I'm just trying to vigure out for someone my size how would i approach this "KETO" diet should i eat less then with the average person eats per day or more🤔 i am so confused on what to do. i started out at 410lbs January 2nd and now today i am 401.2 which to me is crazy. that's just not enough weigh dropped. that's like the amount of weight on my BIG toe😅smh. ok all joke aside on keto i heard you suppose to eat about 50 carbs or less if I'm not mistaken. would that be the proper amount for me or should i just go cold turkey and do 20 carbs a day on the Atkins diet🤔 or a 800 calorie a day diet. i have know idea how many calories i should be eating per day for my size and its driving me nuts😭 mind you i DO NOT do any type of exercise what's so ever but i will be soon trying to get at least 30 minutes in a day or whatever my body can handle as long as I'm active everyday. i never really been a water drinker but i am starting to drink atleast 2 water bottles a day. right now i getting ready to eat a piece of boiled chicken 3 boild eggs and a large tomatoe sliced. i bet that right there is going to pack on another 200lbs😣😱 i had thought about eating 50%keto and 50%diet food just to see what happens after a month but then i thought if i do that i will definitely not myself out of ketosis if I'm even there yet. smh. i just need to know in a 123 simple kinda way for someone with a BMI as high as mine how many calories should i eat Per day how many carbs and how often and how long should i exercise🤔 the keto diet confuses me because you're supposed to eat more FAT but i got enough of that to go around for everybody in the comment section😣 anyway would appreciate some advice from anyoneTHANKS😄🤗😊
