STALLING on a KETOGENIC DIET? Don't make this COMMON MISTAKE, aggressive calorie restriction

Coaching, skype consultations: http://www.primaledgehealth.com/coaching Don't paint yourself into a corner when trying to lose bodyfat - aggressively restricting calories for long periods of time results in adaptations of your metabolism. Restricting calories too much causes leptin levels plummet and energy expenditure goes down - then you stall and drop calories even lower...this is a vicious cycle that often confuses and frustrates people. When you stall, it's not always wise to restrict calories more - assess your situation and make sure you are not looking at water retention. Sometimes increasing caloric intake will HELP the situation as your body adjusts to its new setpoint. Increasing food intake and thus increasing metabolism and decreasing the stress on your body can be helpful in avoiding the pitfalls of obsessive dieting. Remember, fat loss is not a linear journey and there can be long term negative consequences to starving yourself with aggressive obsessive dieting.

Chris Ewalt: man this advice was just what i needed. been on keto for a year with great progress. been at a stall for past 2 months

ET Fitness Coaching: Thanks for the great advice man. Not stalling on my cut yet, but if I do, I'll keep it in mind to bump my calories back up to maintenance for a while.

natures kisses: awsome vidoe very informative😄 ok so my situation is definitely alot different then most people. and thats probably whats got me so stressed out do to that fact doing the keto diet. i am a 30 year old female only 5'6 and 401.2lbs yes you heard right 401.2lbs now i know alot of pepole are probably going to say geez I'm better off just getting weight loss surgery and that maybe true but with my severe depression and anxiety issues since 17 years old i am just not ready for it and i dont know if my body could handle it. I'm just trying to vigure out for someone my size how would i approach this "KETO" diet should i eat less then with the average person eats per day or more🤔 i am so confused on what to do. i started out at 410lbs January 2nd and now today i am 401.2 which to me is crazy. that's just not enough weigh dropped. that's like the amount of weight on my BIG toe😅smh. ok all joke aside on keto i heard you suppose to eat about 50 carbs or less if I'm not mistaken. would that be the proper amount for me or should i just go cold turkey and do 20 carbs a day on the Atkins diet🤔 or a 800 calorie a day diet. i have know idea how many calories i should be eating per day for my size and its driving me nuts😭 mind you i DO NOT do any type of exercise what's so ever but i will be soon trying to get at least 30 minutes in a day or whatever my body can handle as long as I'm active everyday. i never really been a water drinker but i am starting to drink atleast 2 water bottles a day. right now i getting ready to eat a piece of boiled chicken 3 boild eggs and a large tomatoe sliced. i bet that right there is going to pack on another 200lbs😣😱 i had thought about eating 50%keto and 50%diet food just to see what happens after a month but then i thought if i do that i will definitely not myself out of ketosis if I'm even there yet. smh. i just need to know in a 123 simple kinda way for someone with a BMI as high as mine how many calories should i eat Per day how many carbs and how often and how long should i exercise🤔 the keto diet confuses me because you're supposed to eat more FAT but i got enough of that to go around for everybody in the comment section😣 anyway would appreciate some advice from anyoneTHANKS😄🤗😊

Lachuma Candace: oh my gosh... I HOPE I can loose 100. And I am 5 foot 4. Just learning. Frustrating. I have fibromyalgia, so it is so very hard to exercise enough. After a month o keto, i still have not lost yet, but haven't gained. I feel more ALIVE though now

joe wine: What about dr fung? He says keto and intermittent fasting is fine

LRLRLRLR 15: Can i get all the vitamins and minerals i need on a keto diet?

Belle Smith: You are seriously hot! God I wish you lived in the uk lol xxx

nycgemini7222: Grt video

Chubbyone Kanobi: Ok , I'm working hard in week 21 of keto . Started at 322 lbs and now at 280. I'm very pleased and it has changed my life. Even my wife is doing very well on her modified plan. More like paleo . I'm super stuck for about a month , but my problem is I have literally no appetite to speak of. Well it's more than 50 % non existent. I sometimes forced myself to eat. Please help, should I increase or just be happy I'm not hungry? So confused ...

hide name: I'm 32 started off at 214 lbs about 25%. Over the last 90 days I have dropped to about 186 with 15%. I have had a ton of success and look really good now but for goal sakes I want to get to about 180 and/or 13% bodyfat. As of late I have stalled in my weight loss my body seems to like this 185-187 area. This video is helping me to not be neurotic about it.

robert koller: Great videos man. Just curious as you've been in ketosis for so long with suck a high fat intake if you ever look at blood work.....LDL,HDL,and triglycerides?

V: On a ketogenic diet, Jeff Volek recommends adding a gram or two of sodium per day in the form of a bullion cube or two - particularly on workout days. My sodium level is typically fairly low without carbs, so I was just wondering how much sodium you recommend per day? On a standard diet, people often discuss the dangers of too much sodium, but it would seem that people on a ketogenic diet must be just as concerned with sodium deficiency. I'm curious to know your take on this.

dane kerrman: I am trying to follow this keto diet plan below.

I am still following this plan and it was pretty good.

dustymural: What if you have painted yourself into a corner? How do you recover your metabolism?

andrew dang: i like how your videos are more than 5 mins. I really appreciate that you put the time into your videos to inform us peasants

Nurse Lada: Loved this! Thank you❤️

pieterb3011: I weigh 162, eat around 1800 calories a day. 120-140 protein, 30-50 carbs, 100+ fat. I do endurance sports such as rowing and running along with fitness. Everything is going well only thing I am not sure about is the amount of calories. Am I eating too less or much for fat loss? Please Help!!!

Lawrence Malcheff: I have been attempting to enter into keytosis for about a week now. I am a powerlifter and I painted myself into a metabolic rebound last August and it took me 8 months to overcome it, mostly because I didn't have any idea of how to get back to steady fat loss, and also because a metabolic rebound is psychologically crushing to motivation and to the soul. I messed up by doing exactly what this man said that i shouldn't be doing. starving myself and excessively working out--HARD (I powerlift). I had lost over 250 lbs in a year, wanted to get to 215 lbs and made it to 261 lbs before all hell broke lose, metabolically speaking. i didn't know what to do. I was not doing a keto diet at time. i was just not eating enough of anything and powerlifting for long sessions, and getting greedy with the fat loss. Now, 8 months later, I am 290 lbs, and instead of going to sleep on an empty stomach, I ate a huge poached chicken breast with about 3 ounces of Ranch on it. I took in about 2000 calories today, and I think it was the right decision. I know about the fat loss ups and downs and plateaus that happen as a result of weight lifting, because for the last two years almost I have been on a mission to lose fat and have been very successful. but I forgot that you have to maintain your weight sometimes or take in a bit extra calories to let your body catch up to the biological responses that come about from strength training. and sometimes you must just stay away from the gym for a week or two--period.You cant just have it all at once. your body just wont let you. Great post. Thank you.
