http://paisano-online.com/?opinion=vegan-diets-healthy-trendy Vegan diets: healthy or trendy Mass media has made veganism more visible than ever before. It has been the topic of blog posts, YouTube channels, websites, health articles and television. The recent media interest in the plant-based diet has lead more people to consider veganism as a serious lifestyle choice. In 2009, one percent of people in the U.S. were vegans, and that number grew to 2.5 percent by 2013. While the vegan population is still relatively small, this was a significant growth within a three-year period, and it suggests that veganism is still steadily growing in the U.S. today. It is very unlikely that the majority of Americans will adopt a vegan diet anytime soon, but we are at least moving in a positive direction and becoming more health conscious. Vegan media attention has not converted everyone to plant-based diets, but it has at least garnered interest from the public and has made people more aware of the importance of adding produce to their diets.
NEBULA: I have been a VEGETARIAN for 28 years. When i decided to do it, it wasn't trendy and hardly anyone was vegan, nobody had even heard of it really. Now when i tell someone i'm a VEGETARIAN it's always the same thing, either "oh, you're a vegan?" or "are you a vegan or a vegetarian?". Many of the supposed vegans i have encountered are fakes. Many of them are meat eaters and just follow the vegan trend to get likes on the internet. I know there are many true vegans out there and i support all of you but i'm so tired of the fakes. They go home after eating a steak at their favorite restaurant then they make a salad, take a selfie with it, post a pic online with something like #veganlife. It's kind of annoying now. They are smearing a real healthy life choice. If you can't handle veganism then try vegetarianism. If you can't do either, then just be yourself. There will be a new trend somewhere down the road. Trust me.
UNDER GRACE: I can see you are trying to keep up with the latest info Marcus, but I know u have a business to run... Have u ever heard of the book how not to die by dr Gregor? How about dr. Neal Bernard?
I don't believe all college students that r doing it for the animals are doing it for "trendy" it's not trendy to reduce the suffering, Murder and enslavement of other beings; it's just morally right.
If you think killing animals unnecessarily is wrong, then your morally obligated yourself to go vegan. So that's the question we need to ask ourselves. And from there we can educate ourselves on the plant based diet.
Jacqueline Oscvirk: Have you heard of Memphis Meats? www.memphismeats.com Check them out ... they are on the verge of doing some very new radical science that will spare billions of animals from suffering. Not that I think that eating meat is still good for us from a health perspective ... but it will at least alleviate the suffering of the animal part of the equation and the harmful global impact.
psheerinhamill1: Great video!! Thanks! :)
Sidney Manzanita: Great intro to veganism! thanks
Sidney Manzanita: I think there's a place for faux meats. I'm a vegan who likes the taste and texture of some meats, once and awhile. It's a healthier, more ethical alternative.
Sidney Manzanita: I wish someone had a restaurant in my part of the country that featured great vegan meals. I'll keep dreaming of it....
Joy Ferrell: Vegan faux meats just rub me the wrong way! I think it's nasty!!! I have seen vegans eat junk before! It's sad! When I was vegetarian back in 2009 most restaurants didn't offer plant based meals but things have changed a lot!
Constance Lovejoy: Veganism has become such a cult! People like Durianrider & Freelee have made Veganism one of the fastest growing cults in the world. Luckily, Durianrider & Freelee are banning a number of people who are openly revealing had insidious their RawTill4 cult is.
FoRbiDDeN Food TV: As a vegan myself, a very well spoken video Marcus 👏🏻
Jacqueline Oscvirk: Chef you are looking very good again! What you are doing is working, as you know! Amazing how much better your energy is since your video at the end of 2015! Keep us posted. I want to try this, am attempting to do RT4 but find it hard sometimes to stick to all the fruit. I'm over 50, and want to know if this will work for my age bracket as well. Keep your updates coming!
