Much of the literature and research on keto is a bit confusing as they use Percentages to show that the ketogenic diet was a diet consisting of 80% CALORIES coming from fat - these studies were mostly done in epileptic children and the "ratios" they used are not very relevant to the common practitioner or user of a ketogenic diet today. Use GRAMS when formulating your diet, percentage of calories from each macronutrient will vary for each individual according to goals.

Matthew Spicka: So far I have found it to think the exact opposite. I am new by the way. Today is day 12. I am 1. finding it hard to Eat 2000 calories, especially when I work out and take that into account. 2. I am finding it hard to get the 25% protein most days. Today my ratio of protein is low and I just ate 5 oz of chicken for dinner. I was thinking of a scoop of Whey to bring me back in balance.
it seems easier to keep the ratios that to keep the grams. I seem to not need to eat as much and have double the energy.

2400*80/100=1800kcal so 1800/9(coz 1gram fat=9kcal) = 200grams of total fat
2400*20/100=480kcal so 480/4(coz 1gram protein=4kcal) = 120grams of total protein
2400*5/100= 120kcal so 120/4(coz 1gram carb=4kcal) = 30grams of total carbs
am i accurate here guys??

keto gaming: everyone says to stay below 50grams of carbs my diet has 60-65grams of carbs will this still be fine?
Jerry Bruton: I have no problem using percentages to determine my combination of macros for my nutritional ketogenic diet. I started with determining my Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDDE). The next step was to proportion TDDE to be provided by 70% fats, 20% proteins, and 10% carbs. Then just dividing the calories for fats, proteins, and carbs, by 9 for fats, and 4 for proteins and carbs for the grams for each macro. These are the calories per gram for the three macros. It's a basis to start without shooting from the hip with a wild ass guess. This is just grammar school math. Too the contrary, percents properly using is not keto confusion. If you don't know your TDDE, one can google how to determine it.

I've come across "Bulletproof Coffe" (organic coffee, grass fed butter and MCT Oil). I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this. It's something I'd like to try in the morning until lunchtime. Joe Mills: Is it ok to vary the amount of fats vs carb/protein day to day? For example, having 180 grams of fats, 40 grams of protein and 20 grams of carbs one day, then 200 grams of fats, 30 grams of protein and 25 grams of carbs a different day? Is this a good way to train your body to deal with variation and different amounts of macros from day to day? For example, some days you may need more protein and others you might not need as much?
