That is Mindfulness! So check that video out! The second module is Distress Tolerance. This entails distracting and they use the acronym ACCEPTS. The next module is Emotion Regulation, and this can help us be in more control of our emotions using many CBT like tools. This will have us work on things like recognizing what thoughts are hardest for us to manage and how we react to the things that happen around us. It will try and help us notice our reactions and the thoughts that create them so we can be better prepared to tolerate the feelings next time. Last but not least is Interpersonal Effectiveness. This will help us better communicate our emotions to those who are important to us. We will learn tools to express how we are feeling instead of always reacting and lashing out. Utkarsh Verma: Nothing will ever work if one keeps finding the cure of their mental illness in the outside world.
In Indian yogic science there are 2 terms "karma" and "kriya" .
Karma means "action" and it's something that you do physically in the outside world. ("Activities" in "ACCEPTS" is an example of it)
And Kriya means "process" and it refers to everything happening inside the boundaries of your skin. Digestion, respirations, blood cell generation, your thought process, the chemical cocktail cooking in your brain and so on... They are all "Kriya"
I'm not an expert of psychology but I have noticed that most of western psychological therepies rely more on Karma than Kriya which in my opinion isn't the best way. It of course works, but It's not the most efficient way! People need to turn inwards and learn to be aware of their inner process!

Tyler Hickman: DBT did not work for me, it actually made things worse. Learned lots of skills that I still use as needed but while going to group and private sessions I experienced worsening depression and risky behavior's that ceased when I stopped going.

When I do that, people tend to say "don't try to shrink talk your way out of this" whereas yelling gets me some level of respecting for being honest and standing up for myself. Contrary to popular belief, people actually hate it when you use the "starting your sentences with I" strategy.

Marcia Ray: I am sick of group and cant ever conce trate. I have adult add,ocd,eating disorder,bpd,etc. I have also been diagnosed with bipolar type2 by Mayo clinic. Iwish i could do skype or 1 on 1 at home. On top of that i now severe arthritis and cant walk. Not all therapists are qualified! i am 65 and seeing them since i was 16. I feel hopeless. I have also been inpt. Several times including the great Mayo clinic mood disorder unit( what a rip). So i am ready to give up!
