John Galt: Excess protein does convent to glucose. Excess is dependent on how much muscles you have and how much you exercise. But Atkins(high protein) keto or high fat Atkins does help people too.

Maybe because my body utilizes the protein because I train for boxing in the evening, as well as do sprints or road work in the morning, and heavy lifting in the afternoon. Different people with different stress levels handle protein better than others.

mysteriousgirl4: I'm losing my mind here. I have been on this for a month and it's working. I'm losing weight. But i'm gonna stall eventually and no one can agree on the rules for this diet. The basic ones, what to eat and what not to are ok, but should we have no carbs or a limited amount? It's under 20g carbs. No wait it's anything under 60g. No wait. 10g and no more. Eat nothing but protein. Eat limited protein and heaps of fat, no wait eat mainly leafy greens and protein and limit fats. Cheese is fine. No cheese is bad. Nuts are fine. Nuts are bad. Almond are bad but almond meal is fine..... I'm so frustrated i'm just skipping meals cause if I eat under a thousand calories I can't possibly fuck up. Right? Right? Ugh.

I do 23/1 IF and keto at the same time. Before finding your channel, I had 75 to 80% fat and did lose weight, but suddenly stopped and I started even gaining weight! On a 1200 calorie meal for a 225 lb 5' 6" woman! It was so disappointing to see the stop and not be able to do anything. Until in my searches, I got to one of your videos that says why gaining weight and you mentioned to increase protein. I increased my protein intake to almost 80-90 g (0.8 per lb of target lean body mass) about 40% and fat to about 50% and boom. From the next morning, I again started loosing weight.Do I care if I am kicked out of ketosis for a couple of hours after meal? Not at all. It's what it is! It's life and I want to enjoy life rather than over complicating things and constantly measuring food and obsessong over ketone levels! I compensate for being kicked out of ketosis by my 23/1 IF!

waybackboy 89: I was under the assumption that u could eat all you want on keto if you at extreme low carbs(0-20) I did the math and I have been eating 3500 cals a day 300 grams of protein and 5 carbs per day and I went from 191 to 185 in 4 days.. Should I cut back on my protein? Will this hurt me in the long run?

ERIC BERG claim that the only requirement to reach a ketogenic state is to maintain a low-carbohydrates intake, about less than 30 grams per day, even if one is eating a lot of protein. I don't understand how can many people claim that eating a lot of protein will kick people out of teh ketosis state
