Sylvie Fréchette: Very disappointed in this book, the recipes are not well explained and do not come close to be great. Tried the Almond Feta twice and did not manage to succeed, it turned into a mess. The macaroni and cheese powder was not great either and the mayonnaise was not great either. For the price I paid in Canada for this book I would not recommend it at all. It has been a total disappointment.
Sarah Whiddett: I'm a bit late to the party and only just got this book. I absolutely love the mayonnaise and I've also made the 'fab' cakes which were.......fab! I love the way Miyoko uses every part of the soy bean too. I'm in the process of making rejuvelac for some 'cheese' and looking forward to seeing how that turns out.
Elizabeth Shaw: I love the background beanie nutty flavor to soy milk. Black soap can be quite expensive but if you do a Google search for BlackSalt you can find it starting at $0.99! What do you think about using that eggy mayonnaise dressing 4 tofu egg salad? It looks like it's very dry ice cream if you know what I mean by that. I tried her seitan turkey. it was one of her original videos and I thought I would die! It is not good at all and I don't think seitan is a forte of hers.

First of all, thank you for all your lovely recipes, they're very inspiring and look delicious!
I was considering buying the homemade vegan pantry, but in some of the author's recipe videos it seems she uses nutritional yeast in every recipe. Is that true for the other recipes in the book ? If so, does she give alternatives ? Because nutritional yeast is quite expensive and is not supposed to be heated, so I feel it's a waste to use it just for the flavour. As an alternative for nutritional yeast I thought of homemade dried mushroom powder, but I don't know if the quantities needed are the same...

Sue Day: The only thing I've tried so far is the vegan butter. I loved it. Oh reg arding the nuts I've heard Miyoko say to soak the nuts 8hrs or overnight if you don't have a high speed blender for making cashew cream. Maybe the same applies when making milk..?

Audrey Snowden: So far, I made the cashew milk (three times), and I made the butter so I could make the French buttercream. I saved out a little butter to add salt to, but it didn't last long, because it was unbelievable. I won't be buying butter again. Then I made the French buttercream. Now let me note that I was very excited about this and added the butter in when it was too cold, so the frosting didn't emulsify properly. But I'm not using it until the end of the week, so I will just take it out in the morning and let it come to room temp and rewhip it. It is expensive and takes a few steps, but the TASTE. Now tonight, I made a batch of white cake mix, and a cake, and it was meh. I am not putting The Buttercream on that cake. What I AM going to do is go try the mac 'n cheese sauce now.
