Marie-Charlotte Paris: Hi Mary,
First of all, thank you for all your lovely recipes, they're very inspiring and look delicious!
I was considering buying the homemade vegan pantry, but in some of the author's recipe videos it seems she uses nutritional yeast in every recipe. Is that true for the other recipes in the book ? If so, does she give alternatives ? Because nutritional yeast is quite expensive and is not supposed to be heated, so I feel it's a waste to use it just for the flavour. As an alternative for nutritional yeast I thought of homemade dried mushroom powder, but I don't know if the quantities needed are the same...
Thank you for your help!
Sue Day: The only thing I've tried so far is the vegan butter. I loved it. Oh reg arding the nuts I've heard Miyoko say to soak the nuts 8hrs or overnight if you don't have a high speed blender for making cashew cream. Maybe the same applies when making milk..?
ashika torikora: hey mary. I would love another one of these book reviews. I have a book in mind if you are looking for suggestions.
Christina Furlow: What kind of blender is that? I thought nut milks could only be made in blenders like a vitamix.
A New Life: is it possible to use another milk for mayo ? how hard is it to make the the soy free veganaise
A New Life: There's a big chance that soy has human genes contaminated with in them have you seen the film soylent green
Dimy Ssg: Bought this book based on your review, I already have the artisan vegan cheese book and love it! I'm so pleased at what an awesome book this is and looking forward to testing out many recipes. Thank you. Love this channel and what you offer too:)) keep up the great work.
Liam Maple: the powder cheese is amazing. I made potato gratin and it was EVERYTHING with the sauce mix.
Varia: i want that mac n cheese recipe.
Audrey Snowden: So far, I made the cashew milk (three times), and I made the butter so I could make the French buttercream. I saved out a little butter to add salt to, but it didn't last long, because it was unbelievable. I won't be buying butter again. Then I made the French buttercream. Now let me note that I was very excited about this and added the butter in when it was too cold, so the frosting didn't emulsify properly. But I'm not using it until the end of the week, so I will just take it out in the morning and let it come to room temp and rewhip it. It is expensive and takes a few steps, but the TASTE. Now tonight, I made a batch of white cake mix, and a cake, and it was meh. I am not putting The Buttercream on that cake. What I AM going to do is go try the mac 'n cheese sauce now. Thank you for your review!
simpzzi R: What's your snapchat???
emmy snowwhite: iam enjoying your videos, iam not vegan but trying to avoid meat those days and iam searching for good vegan recipes, new subscriber!
Kari Eats Plants: have you tried the new daiya mac n cheese? wonder how this compares.
BananasAndRoses: mary this was such an amazing review, thank you for your care, passion, and dedication to producing fantastic content! so inspiring to me. i'm with you on the fan girl level love for MS!! excited to start following your snaps!
Alice Yang: Love your channel! Will you be making an updated video for soybean milk soon :)?
Nicole Isaac: From the cheese book. All the steps are a hassle (oh do I hate making rejuvelac- if you know somewhere in TO that sells it, please lmk!) but it is pretty tasty!
Nicole Isaac: I really like Miyoko's sharp cheddar!
Letizia Ripandelli: Great video! I saw Miyoko at the Toronto Veg Food Fest just yesterday. I did not cry or faint but I thought about it! She did a lovely, and hilarious, demo of the mac and cheese recipe and the bouillon mix from the Vegan Pantry book, and she did the cheese fondue recipe from the Artisan Vegan Cheese book. It was amazing to see her, and we tasted her cheese (which is available through vegansupply.ca but is very expensive) and I got my book signed. Good times.
Amy Johnson: She's really nice. You can meet her by coming to HealthFest in Marshall, TX! She was there last year, and she might be there again next year! http://healthfest.com/
klk96: Do you think that putting the recipe with real ingredients in it. I would like to do Mac n Cheese, but I can't.
