Do You Have the Drama Queen Gene? Dr. Romie on Fox News Orlando

Do you always cry at romantic comedy movies or have you been accused of being a drama queen? New brain research finds that your parents may be to blame. • Being labeled a “Drama queen” is a social slang term that typically defines someone that experiences extremes of emotion, both in happiness and in sadness and anger. • Let’s be clear, using the word “queen” is a misnomer. We are not just labeling women, in this study both male and female brains were studied. • The tendency to be “dramatic” happens in both men and women, and is used to label people who perceive emotions in a more vivid way. Romila “Dr. Romie” Mushtaq, M.D., ABIHM, is a traditionally trained neurologist with additional board certification in integrative medicine.
